American Vintage SS11

I'm off up that London on Monday to buy the SS11 American Vintage. If you are unaware of the brand, American Vintage is a French basics label set up by Mickael Azoulay in 2005. Focusing on good quality fabrics and simple easy to wear pieces, American Vintage is best known for it's layering styles.

We've been selling it in nola since 2005 and our customers love each new collection and buy it by the armful! Next SS11 sees the label focussing on beautiful soft neutral palettes which are fantastic for the Spring. They have introduced some brighter colours for the Summer drop - mustards and sky blues add colour pops to our wardrobes. And again, the fabrics are soooo soft yet durable!

Can't wait to see it!

The only way to travel

Well the snow has ground Brighton to a halt, no trains, buses and walking is a pain in the butt. I was strolling through Churchill Square (after having my eyebrows threaded by the lovely Simon at The Brow Studio) and was fantasising about alternative forms of travel during snowier times and I came across this! Now, for those of you who know me, already know that I adore a pony, but to own a mechanical fantasy pony would just blow my mind AND solve all my travel woes. Especially if it could fly too. And have a heated saddle, and have a place to store gin.

by Malene Birger Winter Cape Coat

Brrr. It's coat time. And this by Malene Birger number is a corker. Shaped in a feminine, military cape style, it's a good compromise between the coat and cape. Great for wearing chunky jumpers underneath when it's really nippy but ideal for lighter knitwear when we get a bit warmer (Spring?). It's one of Malene's "Darlings" - one of a select few pieces that she chooses as her favourite of the season. It's been really popular in store, priced at £245.
Stick a big chunky scarf on top of it and go for long contemplative Winter walks.

Handknitted Tam O' Shanter anyone?

It's getting a bit nippy down here in Brighton - when the wind whips up from the sea, it can freeze all kinds of extremities. We've been selling these lovely Tam hats by Eribe really well over the last couple of days. Made from 100% Scottish lambswool, Eribe Tam hats are based on traditional Scottish designs with a contemporary twist. They are all hand knitted. At £65 we think they're a bargain. And they keep our ears warm too.
