Layering is easy with American Vintage

Have you heard of American Vintage? If you haven't then now is the time to look at this great jersey basics range from France. It's the perfect solution for those autumn days when it's still too warm to wear woollens.

We picked up the range for spring and it just flew out of the store. The autumn range is equally as fabulous with great colours that are just so easy to wear. The colour palette for autumm is charcoal, carbon, midnight blue, chocolate with hints of white and violet. There are styles to flatter all shapes and sizes at at prices from £39 to £109 it's a great way to build a winter capsule wardrobe.

And what you need to know is it washes really well and most impotantly keeps it's shape.

Come and have a look in store

Stella Magazine recommends Nola

Brighton recently featured in Stella Magazine's Britain's best shopping cities.. And lovely lovely us were mentioned as one of those shops to visit. We love Stella so were really pleased to get included alongside Tribeca and The Lavender rooms as the grooviest independent stores.

As well as the labels mentioned in Stella; See By Chloe, M Missoni, Paul and Joe sister and Alex Monroe, we also carry Angel Jackson, Malene Birger, Rutzou, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel and American Vintage.

All of our autumn winter stock is now sitting pretty on our rails so come in and take a peek. This week, as the weather takes a chilly turn nola says get your winter woolies now.

Lots of love

Why M Missoni is SO worth the money!!

Sometimes Rhonda and I have a little panic. It's usually just at the start of the new season. Nola is full of boxes, and after the near bacchic frenzy of unpacking and the obligatory trying on of every item (well it would be rude not to!) we come to pricing up the new stock.

M Missoni is our most expensive label. Occasionally i give a little gulp when i price up a dress and it's £350 or £400 pounds. If we were in Notting Hill or Hamstead this wouldn't worry me in the slightest. But we're in Brighton. Brighton women are very stylish, but many have young families and may not be working or are now working on a part time basis. Our customers love fashion but may now have other priorities in their lives. This is one of the reason's why we stock diffusion lines because you get the look and the quality but without the extortionate price tags.

Anyway, back to M Missoni. It may cost more but i can honestly say it is completely worth every penny. The dresses this season are sensational. They are beautifully made, mostly in Italy. They are cut so beautifully that they flatter an 8 to a 16. And in this world of disposable fashion they make a refreshing change, because they will last you forever...just like a diamond!

So, you could buy a few dresses for £400 but they won't have the WOW factor that your M Missoni dress always has and in five years those dresses will be in Oxfam or on long gone on ebay but your Missoni will still be coming out regularly and looking as fabulous as ever.

M Missoni...cos you're worth it! xxxxxx

More Paul and Joe Sister and Malene Birger in store today!

Good afternoon ladies!

Yesterday we had a great delivery of new season goodies from Paul and Joe sister. There are leather bags and wallets at under £120. A fabulous navy coat for £293. The cutest little grey capped sleeve knit with a kitty wearing pearls on it..meow!! The chunky knits are already selling fast so even though the weather may still be warm, i suggest buy now before it's too late!!!

We've had some more great pieces from our fave Malene Birger. The chunky Varta scarves are massive and worth every penny of the £80 they sell for. The "Gulda" snake print dress is flying out of the store, but we managed to snag ourselves a few more. again girls buy now or repent at leisure!!!!!

All our product shots for fall/winter are being taken next week so our website will be updated really soon. The Sonia Rykiel is nearly here, as is the Tara Jarmon and the American vintage. It's all happening!!!

Bring on the cold right now!!!

Lots of love

Scarves and Sunglasses

Morning nolans!

The weather has turned fricking ridiculous again and i don't know what to wear. Every year is the same story. By August i'm still a whiter shade of pale (with some wierd patches of tan in odd places) and no closer to having reached my perfect summer wardrobe, and i own a clothes shop!!!

I've given up on summer fashions now and am concentrating on putting together the perfect autumn wardrobe. This season i am determined to not be waylaid by panic purchases and impulse buys. So what am i looking for this autumn and what have we got in store that's gonna fit my requirements?

Sunglasses!!! Yes sunnies my lovelies. I think it's a great time of year to invest in a great new pair of shades. Some great styles arrived from Malene Birger yesterday and even though the skies are grey, they won't be forever!!! And imagine as the days get colder and you're all wrapped up in your chic winter woolies, how great you'll feel in a fabulous pair of sunnies. This autumn is all about luxury and a great looking pair of sunglasses can add instant glamour to a simple outfit. The Malene Birger sunnies are a fab price too, only £100 and not only that, the packaging is luxurious too.

Scarves!!! If you live in Brighton you know we have our fair share of gusty winds a blowin'! It's no place for floaty skirts unless you don't mind showing your undies. It's too warm for coats and jackets but not too warm for a lovely M Missoni scarf!! We have a mouthwatering selection for you this season. From very light lurex metallics to chunky monkey big wool knits a la Giles Deacon!! and with prices from £90 they are an absolute must.

Well i've got the scarf and sunglasses situation sorted, now it's just the rest of my wardrobe that needs overhauling!!!!!

Also in this week...more from Rutzou, Malene Birger and Paul and Joe Sister. Coming soon..Sonia, See by Chloe, Tara Jarmon, American Vintage and Notify jeans.

Lots of love
