Luella wears her Deputy jacket on BBC2's "Britsh Style Genius"

I am thoroughly enjoying the BBC2 series "British Style Genius" at the moment. Last week's was fantastic with Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen doing their rebel bit. Do you remember McQueen's bumsters when he first showed them?

Anyhoo, last night was "By Royal Appointment" - The Country Look. It was very British indeed. I want a Barbour now! The programme celebrated all things countrified - tartan, tweed, oilskin, florals, headscarves and brogues. A great look if you can pull it off. Luella Bartlley was talking about the inspirations for her collections - classic British that has "gone wrong"! I love Luella's pieces - we've got in stock the Deputy jacket that Luella was wearing in the interview - amazingly well cut, with a touch of humour in the shoulders. It's £325 and is a great price for a jacket that you'll wear for years and years.

It's getting nippy out there!

Don't know about you but I love this time of the year. I love the smell in the air -kind of clean and fresh with a bit of a whiff of bonfire in it. Lovely. I also love the clothes that are about at this time of the year. I'm loving wrapping up in the huge American Vintage scarves we've got at nola and wearing the truly amazing Trisian chunky cardi from Malene Birger. We've also got lovely toasty Emu ugg boots in store now. Great price - £130 for the hi boots and just £110 for the lo boots.

We've also got some lovely perfume and candles in from Ortigia - stunning packaging, very sophis.

We're off to a Hallow'een party on Friday night so I'm looking for a bit of a fancy featherwork for my hair. Will let you know how I get on.

This Week We're Loving......M Missoni Bikinis!!

Hopefully you are all looking forward to jetting off somewhere hot and beachy in the coming months. If you are then a luxurious, beautifully made bikini can make all the difference to how you feel on the beach.

If you are in your late thirties like me then you know that cheap bikinis just aren't a good look for us. The colours are always just a bit off and you wear them once and they sag like mad. Plus all the mediterranean ladies take their swimwear seriously so that number from M & S that you thought looked great in the privacy of your bedroom mirror suddenly ain't looking too hot next to donatella's little Versace number!!!

This season we've chosen a fabulous style from M Missoni in two great prints that are fabulous for this season but as with all M Missoni, this will become a classic, timeless piece. Classic briefs with aenough height to cover those muffin tops!! with a triangle bikini top with metal clasp fastening and nice slim straps. First colourway is tropical splashes of orange, hor pink and red. The second colourway is white background with tropical leaf print in soft coral, blue and khaki. I'll put pictures up shortly.

COMING SOON... THE BRIGHTON FESTIVAL 2008

The 42nd Brighton Festival starts on May 3rd this year and will run until the 25th. We are already booked up for the fabulous Spiegeltent and The Go Team DJing Da Doo Ron. (You may note we have chosen the least highbrow events possible!!! but we are seriously considering "Up The Gary" too!!!.

Okay, i'm not gonna lie and say it's sandal weather this week because, frankly, that would be wrong. But, the sun is coming out to play more and more, and this warm sandal wearing weather can often creep up on us.

The best time to buy summer sandals is about now. You have plenty of choice and the sizes are still available. However, leave it a couple of weeks, waiting for that weather to pick up, you go back to the shops and suddenly there's nothing, nada, zilch.
